Who we are

We’re passionate about dirt, plants, and the magic they create together. Here, nestled in the rugged and beautiful Upper Peninsula of Michigan, we cherish every story our gardens tell. We practice organic principles and focus on native plantings and edible landscapes. We strive to build lasting relationships with the landscapes we tend, as well as the people and animals that reside within them.

My name is Meghan, i’m the owner- operator- and operations manager for Wildwood. I moved to the upper peninsula from the Minneapolis area to start a market farm. I was raised on a farm in southern Minnesota and have been digging in dirt my whole life. I’ve worked for several landscaping and gardening companies in the Minneapolis area over the years. The last many of which i’ve been living here in the Marquette area in the off season and working as a private estate gardener back in the city during the growing season.

I have a professional horticulture certificate from the university of Minnesota and the Minnesota landscape arboretum.

I have my pesticide applicators license, using organic principles is only as helpful as your understanding of the chemicals and the “pests” themselves. There can be real damage done to pollinators as well as beneficial insects without a real understanding of integrated pest management.

I am currently a non-conventional student enrolled in the botany program at NMU.

I’ve raised heritage poultry and been an avid homesteader for 15ish years.
